The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was the big winner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, picking up five gongs.
Vampires proved more popular than wizards as Robert Pattinson and co-stars took home the coveted Best Movie award, beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
The hit movie also took home gongs for Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart , Best Fight and Best Male Performance, which went to R-Pattz .
The pair, who are a couple in real life, also took home the Best Kiss award.
However, instead of kissing on stage, Pattinson ran into the audience and kissed co-star Taylor Lautner instead.
Water for Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon, 35, took home the coveted MTV Generation award.
During her acceptance speech, the Hollywood actress addressed the industry's younger actresses, to offer her advice.
"It's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show," she said.
And in an apparent dig at Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, she said: "And if you take naked pictures of yourself with your cell phone, you hide your face."
Reese was referring to controversial pictures that surfaced online last week, purportedly showing the actress posing naked in a series of self-portraits.
Blake has since said that the risqué snaps are "100% fake".
Justin Bieber picked up the Best Jaw-Dropping Moment accolade for his film, Never Say Never .
The teen fought off competition from Black Swan, Jackass, Inception and 127 Hours to win his first MTV Award.
Other highlights of the night include Emma Watson who debuted a never-seen-before clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 , which is due to be released in July this year.
